How the service works

Is this a private taxi trip?
No. Action Bus is shared public transportation with wheelchair-lift-equipped, clearly marked city vehicles. Booking and assistance rules differ from a private vehicle hired for one party.

How far ahead can a trip be booked?
Up to 14 days ahead. Short-notice requests are accepted only if space is available, and every booking remains subject to availability. Call 403-309-8400 during dispatch hours.

Exceptions and help
What assistance do operators provide?
They operate lifts/ramps, secure mobility devices, help with straps and boarding, and assist between the vehicle and the inside of the first accessible exterior doorway. The city defines that doorway as having no more than one step.

What assistance is outside the service?
Operators do not enter the residence, help climb more than one step, repair equipment, carry parcels or make multiple equipment-loading trips. Equipment must be at ground level when they arrive.

How many bags can I bring?
Only what you can carry yourself in one trip. Bags, groceries and luggage remain your responsibility. Travel with an attendant if help is needed; operators are not required to load or unload them.
