How the service works
A shelter permit reserves the shelter for a defined block. It does not reserve every nearby table, grass area or trail, and it does not automatically include amplified sound or alcohol. Check the intended activity and group size before selecting a venue.
The city source mixes municipal shelters with two other booking routes. The gazebo uses Facility and Park Rentals, while Heritage Ranch’s shelter is booked through its operator. The latter is reached by a 10 to 15-minute walk from Heritage Ranch, so it is not described as a vehicle-accessible roadside shelter.

Exceptions and help
Can I bring pets, alcohol or a loudspeaker?
The shelter page prohibits pets and alcohol. Amplified sound needs a Special Event Permit. Do not assume a picnic booking authorizes those extra uses.

Is firewood supplied or bad-weather cancellation refunded?
No. Bring your own firewood where a permitted fire facility is used. The city says there are no refunds for inclement weather, and the permit holder must leave the site clean.

When can people gather, and what about washroom hours?
Public gatherings are prohibited 11 p.m.,7 a.m. Washroom information conflicts: the overview says roughly 7 a.m.,10 p.m., while Rotary/Kiwanis entries say 8:30 a.m.,7 p.m. Confirm for the booking rather than assuming a guaranteed opening.
